Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) – Movie Review

Zombieland: Double Tap is the Zom-Com film directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and David Callaham. And it is a sequel to Zombieland (2009), which was also directed by Ruben Fleischer.

This film has released ten years after the release of its prequel, and it also follows ten after the events of the first film. It follows the same lead characters Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone), and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who now have become experts in surviving post-apocalyptic zombie world. As these characters are already well-established in its prequel, this film takes the dynamics of their relationships ahead in a really nice way. The film also introduces some new human and upgraded zombie characters subtly.

When the Zombieland came in 2009, Zom-com was a fresh topic, which worked well. And this film also takes the story ahead with a few new elements in it. And, in the end, it is all about some great zombie kills with a good amount of humor, and it delivers the same. As the film is directed by the same director, the look and feel of the film are also the same, overall which is good for the film and its characters. The performances by the characters are engaging and funny. Madison, the character who joins the zombie killing group played by Zoey Deutch is just sheer fun to watch. There are very few films which do justice to its prequel, and this is one of those films. The film has one of the best mid-credit scenes ever, don’t miss it.

Verdict : It’s a good time film. Just grab your popcorns and enjoy the film.

Rating : 3.7/5
