Tiger Zinda Hai is an action thriller film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and sequel to the record-breaking blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger (2012). The sole reason for Ek Tha Tiger being a blockbuster film was Salman Khan, and the story is no different for this as well.
The film continues eight years after the events of Ek Tha Tiger, where Tiger (Salman Khan) an Indian top spy and Zoya (Katrina Kaif) a Pakistani spy after fighting the world of intelligence and espionage are living happily together with their son. The sudden unfortunate event at Iraq, where rising international threat, the face of terrorism Abu Usman (Sajjad Delafrooz) has kept forty Indian and Pakistani nurses as a hostage in a City Hospital. The United States sees this event as the threat and challenge for their grab on the land of Iraq, and have every reason to attempt an aerial strike on that hospital where Abu Usman has made his base. Before the United States bombs the whole place, the responsibility for the safe evacuation of these nurses falls on the shoulder of Shenoy (Girish Karnad) the head of RAW (an Indian intelligence agency). Now to pull off this impossible mission Shenoy can only think of his best of the best spy, Tiger.
The film is trying to explore the possibility of India-Pakistan peace program where both the countries stand against the common enemy and the civilians from both the countries want nothing but the peace. The film is just like any other Salman Khan action film but with some extra heavy explosions, gunfights, high octane action-packed scenes, and an international enemy. Unlike previous Tiger film, this one focuses on the evacuation story rather than a love story. Salman’s aura remains all the time and is a huge treat for the fans, whistling in a movie theatre never stops. Katrina shines well in all her action scenes. But the villain is so underdeveloped that he is just no match for the charismatic Tiger. There are some plot holes in the story but does it really matter!
Verdict : A good watch for action lovers and Salman fans.
Rating : 3.5/5
